Hello! This channel is dedicated to fulfilling the first-half of our Blended-Learning and Flipped Learning classrooms in the Department of English Language and Literature at the University of Jordan. Some topics are deliberately not covered too extensively so as to keep some portion of work for in-class discussions and Instructor contributions.
Dr. Nimer Abusalim is an Assistant Professor of Linguistics - Semantics and is a believer that traditional methods of teaching are not only out-dated, but are, also, not producing the minds that new generations can best excel with. One step at a time, a shift to 'quality' learning instead of blind 'quantity' should help students retain what they learn and put it to use in society.

Hello, do you have a video that teaches how to properly write and divide the syllables in IPA? For example, the word elephant is written /ˈel.ɪ.fənt/ but if I write /ˈe.lɪ.fənt/ would that be wrong? Need help! 🙏🏻

You're the GOAT (Greatest of all time)

Semantics never sounded that fun until now. I loved your videos; your teaching approach is easy to understand and very soothing. Unlike my Semantics professor, who has been incredibly frustrating, and drove me up the wall you effortlessly explained everything, and suddenly it all clicked. I'm feeling confident about acing the exam now, after struggling with semantics for so long. I'll definitely keep you posted. Thank you so much!
Really interesting. I got it with the least effort. Much appreciated Professor.
I am okay with the explanation,thank u
thank u

Thank you so much for these short lessons! Great for people who didn't get a chance to study the subject in college...(however, since when are bats birds?! And yes, penguins have specialized feathers.)
So why is T optional why don't we use Do auxiliary?
